The North Broward Bureau is a minimum to medium security, special needs detention facility housing male and female offenders. The facility also houses protective custody female offenders and female juveniles. The facility currently holds 1,200 inmates.

The primary mission of the facility is to house and manage the mentally ill, medically infirm and special needs inmate population.

The facility has operated on it's present site since 1979: older facilities that became obsolete have been razed and replaced with more modern and useful facilities.

Inmate Visitation Schedule

Visitation normally begins at approximately 3:30 pm or when the facility headcount is cleared.

Sunday 121H (G.P),122H (G.P), 12MM (Male Infirmary), Female Juveniles (1500 hrs - 1800 hrs), P.C. Males (1800-2100)
Monday 121E, 122F, MRSA Males (1800-2100)

Wednesday 11B
Thursday 11D
Friday 12MW (Female Infirmary), 121G & 122G (Female Units), MRSA Females (1800-2100)
Saturday 11C, 122E (males only)

Notifying an inmate of the death of a family member is arranged through the Chaplain's Office.
